"What you love to do as a child is often what you are drawn to again as an adult." - Erin Kay
About
Hi! I’m Erin Kay, and I have always been a creative.
Some of my earliest memories are of long stretches at the kitchen table, coloring for hours, or sitting beside my grandma as she taught me to cross-stitch. In those quiet moments, I was learning patience, rhythm, and the simple, deeply satisfying joy of making something by hand. That early love of creating stayed with me through art classes in high school and college and continued to live quietly alongside the many meaningful paths my life has taken.
A gift of a watercolor palette from my son rekindled my return to making and invited me back into creative practice. What began with watercolor has grown into pottery and surface design, exploring the ways pattern, color, and form can create work that feels meaningful, approachable, and gently joyful.
As an educator, I’ve spent my career supporting growth, curiosity, and learning. Teaching shaped the way I see the world; with intention, reflection, and the belief that people learn best when they feel safe to explore and make mistakes, with the option of beginning again. Those same values guide my creative work.
Erin Kay Studio is where I design and share work inspired by quiet beauty, the simple human joy of making something thoughtful, and sometimes a bit of humor along the way. Every piece is created with care and purpose, shaped by the idea that art doesn’t need to be loud to be felt. This shop is a place where I share what my hands make and the creative ideas I am exploring and think are worth preserving.
I’m drawn to creating designs that feel familiar, welcoming, and useful. A greeting card can carry gratitude across distance. A journal can hold ideas that are still growing. A textile or print can bring warmth, comfort, or an unexpected smile into everyday life.
If you value what feels personal, intentional, quietly beautiful, and sometimes a little playful, I’m very glad you are here. I hope you find something that speaks to you and becomes part of your story.
If you’d like to follow along as new work appears, you are warmly invited to join for studio notes, updates, and new designs.
